A helping paw

Let’s find
the little tap.

Phones can be a little particular. Your KinTag needs to be close to the phone’s NFC reader for a moment. Here’s where to start.

Try these three things ↓
Kin offers a friendly helping paw.

A few small adjustments.

01

Take off the case.

Thick, magnetic and metal cases can interfere. Try the phone without its case.

02

Wake and unlock.

Hold the back of the phone directly against the tag for a second or two, then open the notification.

03

Move slowly.

Try a little higher or lower. NFC works at very close range, and the reader’s position depends on the phone.

Where’s the sweet spot?

These are starting points. Check your phone manufacturer’s instructions for your exact model.

iPhone

Try the top back edge, near the camera area. Wake and unlock your phone and hold it close to the tag for a moment.

Supported newer iPhones read tags without a separate NFC switch. Capabilities vary with model.

Android

Try the middle back of the phone, moving slowly higher or lower if needed. Search Settings for “NFC” and make sure it’s enabled.

Some Android phones do not have NFC. Check your model’s specifications if no NFC setting appears.

One tap. That’s the whole thing.

No app to install, nothing to pair, nothing to charge. Someone holds their phone to the tag and your contact page opens.
