You’re bringing the phone’s NFC reader close to the physical tag, rather than tapping the phone screen. Wake and unlock the phone, hold it near the tag, then open the notification.
Phone models and NFC settings vary. A thick or metal case can interfere. Move the phone slowly and check our phone-specific help if nothing appears.
